NCR: Even as the Expressway project has been moving at a snail’s pace for
the last two years, no new timeframe has been announced after the expiry of the
last deadline of May 31, 2013.
The concessionaire has missed four deadlines during the last four years,
including the latest one. The initial stipulated date of the completion of the
entire expressway project was July 29, 2009, as per provision in the concession
agreement. The Expressway Ltd is the concessionaire, of which is the main
partner.
In a reply to the applicant’s query regarding extension of the deadline
after May 31, the 1 BHK Flats In Yamuna Expressway replied that the
concessionaire has not intimated about extending the deadline.
In a reply to another query regarding number of times and
extension period given to concessionaire, the Oasis
Yamuna expressway stated that the concessionaire assured targets on
December 2010, June 2011, November 2011 and May 21, 2013, but failed to achieve
it. It was added that action has already been taken against the concessionaire
for not achieving commercial operation date as per the concession agreement.
